사업을 시작해도 투자금이 있어야 합니다. 무슨 일을 해도 기본적으로 가지고 있어야 할 자본이 있어야 한다고 합니다. 새해를 시작하면서 출발점에 서 있는 우리에게 과연 뛸 수 있는 기본 자산이 있는지 살펴야 합니다. 아무것도 없이 뛰는 것은 사막길을 물 한 병 없이 나서는 것과 같습니다. 물탱크와 가는 길이라면, 망막한 사막 길인들 겁이 나겠습니까? 새해라고 하는 길이 우리 앞에 놓여져 있습니다. 가는 길에 어떤 사건을 만날지, 어떤 사람을 만날지 우리는 모릅니다. 항상 좋고 항상 즐거운 것만 우리를 기다리고 있지는 않을 것입니다. 그러나, 우리에게 자산이 든든하면, 기대하지 않은 어려움도 넉넉히 대처해 나가며, 오히려 위기를, 기회로 바꾸는 은혜도 있으리라 믿습니다.
베델교회는 새해를 시작하며 늘 새벽 특별집회로 시작해 왔습니다. 그리고 엘리야 특별새벽기도회라 명명하며 우리는 [엘새]라 부릅니다. 송구영신 예배에서 주신 메세지처럼, 하나님은 우리에게 엘리야를 보내신다 약속하셨습니다(말 4장). 주님이 오실 것을 기대하고 사모하라는 말씀이지만, 우리에게는 엘리야 특별새벽기도로 찾아오신다는 메시지로 적용이 바로 되어 버렸습니다. 새해에 잘 달려가기 위해서 마치 먼 길을 떠나는 자동차에 ‘만땅’ 주유를 하듯이, 혹은 전기차 맥시멈으로 충전을 하듯이, 우리의 영적 자산을 채워야 할 시간입니다. 이미 진행되고 있는 엘새에 남은 한 주간 영적 자산을 마련하기 위한 하나님이 주신 기회를 놓치지 않기를 바랍니다.
기름을 준비하고 신랑을 맞이하는 슬기로운 다섯 처녀의 지혜를 배웁시다(마 25장). 밤을 밝히는 길은 기름을 만땅 준비하는 것입니다. 새해를 예수의 소망으로 밝힐 수 있는 길은 영적 자산을 엘리야 특별새벽기도회를 통해 든든히 우리의 가정과 교회에 채우는 것입니다. 개근하여 만땅 채웁시다. 그리고 주님과 동행하는 마음으로 달려 가십시다. 어떤 은혜가 기다리고 있을지 설레는 마음으로 오십시오. 실망하지 않을 것입니다. 풍성할 것입니다. 어린 자녀들도 와야 하냐구요? 예배당에서 엄마 무릎 베고 자는 아이도 은혜를 받을 것입니다. 등교를 해야 하는 아이들도 엘새에서 기도하고 교회 밥 먹고 보내주십시오. 영력 만땅으로 쌩쌩하게 등교할 것입니다.
잠이 부족할지 모르니, 이번 한 주간만은 저녁 먹고 바로 주무십시오. 이 한 주간은 티비 끄고 기도의 등불만 켜십시다. 드라마 없이 살아도 기도 없이 못 산다! 가훈으로 외치고 이 한 주간 영적 자산 비축을 위해 총력을 다합시다. 우리가 엘새에 나오는 이유는 딱 하나입니다. 예수님이 해답이기 때문입니다. 오직 예수님 때문입니다. [여전히, Jesus Alone]
El-Sae(Elijah Early Morning Prayer) 2025 is the Time to Fill up

Investment is needed when starting a business. Whatever work we do, we must have some basic resources in place. As we begin a new year, we must examine to see if we have the basic resources ready to run from starting point. To run with nothing is like heading out into desert without water. If we take tank full of water with us, will we fear barren desert? Path of the new year is laid out before us. We don’t know what situations or people we will face on our paths. Not all good things nor joys await us. However, if we have strong and reliable assets, we could overcome any difficulties. I believe there will be times when we can take on dangerous situations and turn them into blessings.
Bethel Church has always started new year with early morning prayer services. We named it Elijah Early Morning Prayer Worship. In short, we call it [El-Sae]. Like the message from New Yer’s Eve Worship, God has promised to send Elijah to us (Mal 4). It means to hope and long for the Lord who will come. But it became immediately applicable as a message that He will come to us through Elijah Early Morning Prayer Worship. To run well in the new year, we must replenish our spiritual assets, just like ‘filling up’ a car with gas for a long journey or recharging an electric car to the max. I hope you will not miss the opportunity. God has given us opportunity to prepare spiritual assets through the remaining week of El-Sae, which is already underway.
Let’s learn from five wise virgins waiting for their groom (Mat 25). The way to light up a dark road is to prepare with a full tank of oil. The way to brighten the new year with the hope of Jesus is to fill our homes and churches with spiritual assets through Elijah Early Morning Prayer. Let’s fill up with perfect attendance. And let’s run with the hearts that journey together with the Lord. Come with an excited hearts to see what blessings of grace await you. You will not be disappointed. You will be filled. Should young children come as well? Even the children who sleep on their mom’s lap will be blessed. Even the children who go to school can come to El-Sae, have breakfast at church, and get dropped off at school. They will go to school with full of spiritual energy.
You might lack sleep this week. You will need to go to sleep right after dinner. For this week, let’s turn off TV and light up our prayer lamp. You can live without watching drama, but you cannot live without prayer! Let’s shout this as the family motto and do our best to stock up on spiritual assets this week. There’s only one reason why we come to El-Sae. That is because Jesus is the answer. Only because of Jesus. [Still, Jesus Alone]
