교회 설립 희년을 맞이하며 돌아보는 지난 반세기는, 하나님께서 베델 교회 위에 부어주신 은혜의 역사였음을 고백하지 않을 수 없습니다. 믿음의 선배들이 흘린 눈물과 땀 위에, 새로운 꿈과 비전을 품은 다음 세대가 더해져, 이제 우리는 하나 되어 기쁨의 축제를 맞이하고 있습니다.

모든 위대한 시작이 그러하듯, 베델의 출발 또한 작고 미약한 불꽃이었습니다. 오렌지 카운티 얼바인에서 일어난 성령의 강력한 역사는 교회의 태동으로 이어졌고, 지난 50년 동안 베델은 안으로는 견고한 믿음을 세우고, 밖으로는 복음을 전하는 사명을 향해 쉼 없이 달려왔습니다. 각 나라에 복음을 전하는 선교사들이 세워지고, 그 사역의 지경이 날마다 확장되는 모습을 보며 하나님께 깊은 감사를 드립니다. 이번 집회는 세계 각지에서 사역하는 선교사들을 다시 얼바인으로 초청하여, 하나님께서 이루신 열매를 함께 나누고, 앞으로의 사명을 새롭게 다짐하는 영적 부흥의 자리이자, 더 지혜롭고 효과적인 복음 사역을 모색하는 귀한 기회가 되었습니다. 베델은 지금까지 사랑의 헌신을 세계로 보냈고, 무릎으로 드리는 눈물의 기도를 보냈습니다. 그리고 선교사들을 파송하며 함께 동역해 왔습니다. 지난 주, 그들이 세계 각지에서 다시 베델로 돌아왔습니다. 말 그대로 “베델은 세계로, 세계는 베델로” 이루어지는 은혜의 축제였습니다.

오늘날 세상은 전쟁과 갈등 속에서 혼란을 겪고 있으며, 각국은 자국의 이익을 위해 치열하게 경쟁하고 있습니다. 이러한 시대 속에서도 복음은 멈추지 않습니다. 오히려 그 어떤 상황 속에서도 끊임없이 땅끝을 향해 나아가며, 모든 민족을 향한 하나님의 사랑을 전하고 있습니다. 이번 집회는 이러한 복음 사역을 위한 영적 재충전의 시간이었으며, 많은 목회자들과 사역자들이 함께 모여, 말씀으로 충만해지고, 은혜로 채워지는 시간이 되었습니다.

지난 주 우리 베델이 기쁨으로 맞이했던 세계를 하나님의 은혜로 충만히 채워 주님의 이름으로 다시 세상으로 파송합니다. 하나님께서 이 땅에 세우신 베델 교회의 사명은 여전히 진행 중이며, 앞으로의 50년을 향해 첫걸음을 내딛듯이 다시 시작합니다. 이 뜻깊은 희년의 순간에, 모든 성도들이 함께 모여 복음으로 새로워지는 시간이 되었기를 소망합니다. 오늘에 이르기까지 헌신해 오신 모든 목회자들과, 이름 없이 빛도 없이 충성해 오신 성도님들께 깊은 감사를 드립니다.

Bethel to the World, the World to Bethel

As we celebrate the Jubilee year of our church’s founding, we cannot help but confess that the past half-century has been a history of grace poured out by God upon Bethel Church. Upon the foundation of tears and sweat shed by our predecessors of faith, a new generation carrying new dreams and visions has been added; now, we are united as one, welcoming a festival of joy.

As with all great beginnings, Bethel began with a small and humble spark. The powerful movement of the Holy Spirit that occurred in Irvine, Orange County, led to the birth of this church. For the past 50 years, Bethel has run tirelessly toward its mission: building a steadfast faith internally and spreading the Gospel externally. We offer deep gratitude to God as we see missionaries established to preach the Gospel in every nation and their ministry’s borders expand daily. This recent gathering served as a spiritual revival where missionaries serving across the globe were invited back to Irvine to share the fruits God has borne, and a precious opportunity to reaffirm our future mission and seek wiser, more effective ways to share the Gospel. Until now, Bethel has sent out devotions of love and tearful prayers to the world. We have partnered together by sending out missionaries. Last week, they returned from all corners of the earth to Bethel. It was truly a festival of grace where the slogan “Bethel to the World, the World to Bethel” was realized.

Today’s world is experiencing turmoil amidst wars and conflicts, and nations are competing fiercely for their own interests. Even in such an era, the Gospel does not stop. Rather, it continues to move toward the ends of the earth regardless of the circumstances, conveying God’s love for all nations. This assembly was a time for spiritual recharging for this Gospel ministry—a time when many pastors and ministers gathered to be filled with the Word and grace.

Last week, we joyfully welcomed back the world and sent them back out into the world again in the name of the Lord, filled with God’s grace. The mission of Bethel Church, established by God on this earth, is still in progress; we are starting anew, as if taking the first step toward the next 50 years. In this meaningful moment of Jubilee, I hope it was a time for all congregation to gather and be renewed through the Gospel. I express my deepest gratitude to all the pastors who have dedicated to reaching this day, and to the congregation who have served faithfully without name or recognition.
