베델교회의 50주년 설립기념일을 진심으로 미리 축하합니다. 올해는 역사 가운데 매우 거룩한 만남의 해입니다. 우리는 엘리야 특별 새벽기도회 기도의 메아리가 아직 예배당에 남아 있는 가운데, 교회 설립 50주년을 맞이하게 되었습니다. 이것은 결코 우연이 아닙니다. 성경적으로 ‘오십’은 단순한 숫자나 이정표가 아니라, 희년(Jubilee) 입니다.

희년은 매 오십 년마다 하나님께서 명하신 거룩한 리셋의 해였습니다. 빚은 탕감되고, 종은 해방되며, 땅은 본래의 주인에게로 돌아갔습니다. 잃어버렸던 것, 짓눌렸던 것, 깨어졌던 것들이 회복되었습니다. 이는 인간의 노력으로 이루어진 것이 아니라, 하나님의 명령에 대한 순종과 그분의 공급하심을 신뢰함으로 이루어진 일이었습니다. 희년은 과거를 향한 향수가 아니라, 믿음으로 미래를 향해 나아가는 초청이었습니다.

이른 새벽, 한 몸된 교회로 한 교회의 음성으로 함께 기도할 때 많은 성도님들이 동일한 성령의 움직임을 느꼈습니다. 엘리야 기도는 언제나 돌아오라는 부르심이었습니다. 제단으로, 회개로, 오직 예수님께 대한 전적인 의존으로의 돌아옴입니다. 희년은 그 부르심을 더욱 깊게 확장합니다. 우리가 영원히 짊어지고 살도록 허락되지 않은 것들: 죄책감, 두려움, 원망, 피로, 수치들을 비워내고 놓으라고 부르십니다. 그리고 비전과 소명, 주 안에서의 기쁨이 새롭게 되는 리뉴얼로 우리를 초대하십니다.

지난 50년 동안 신실하신 하나님께 감사와 찬양을 올려드립니다. 그러나 희년은 하나님의 신실하심이 단지 기념할 대상일 뿐 아니라, 청지기적으로 맡겨진 책임임을 일깨워 줍니다. 우리가 값없이 받은 은혜를 이제는 열린 손으로 이웃에게 내어놓아야 합니다.

이 희년의 해에 ‘Come & See’를 선포하며, 우리가 주님께 온전히 돌아가고, 순종을 가로막는 모든 것을 비워내며, 하나님의 영광만을 위해 살아가겠다는 헌신을 리뉴얼하는 교회가 되기를 소망합니다. 이것은 50년의 끝이 아닙니다. 하나님의 은혜로, 구원의 새로운 해의 시작입니다.

Bethel’s Jubilee 2026! Returning, Releasing, and Renewing

Happy Anniversary! This year marks a sacred convergence in the life of Bethel Church. We have entered the 50th anniversary year while our chapel still echoes with the prayers lifted during Elijah Morning Prayer. This is not coincidental. Biblically, fifty is not merely a milestone, it is Jubilee.

The Year of Jubilee was declared every fiftieth year as a holy reset ordained by God. Debts were forgiven. Slaves were released. Land was returned. What had been lost, burdened, or broken was restored. It was not human effort, but by obedience to God’s command and trust in His Provision. Jubilee was about not looking backward with nostalgia, but about moving forward in faith.

As we prayed together as one body in one voice during the early mornings, many sensed the same movement of God’s Spirit. Elijah prayer has been about a call to return. Return to the altar, to repentance, to dependence on Jesus Alone. Jubilee carries that call further. It calls us to release what we were never meant to carry indefinitely: guilt, fear, resentment, fatigue, and shame. And it summons us to renewal—of vision, of calling, and of joy in the Lord.

For fifty years, God has been faithful to Bethel Church. Yet Jubilee reminds us that God’s faithfulness is not only something to celebrate; it is something to steward. What we have received freely, we must now hold out to others with open hands.

As we declare “Come & See” in this Jubilee year, may we become the church that returns to God wholeheartedly, releases all that hinders obedience, and renews our commitment to live for His Glory Alone. This is not the end of a fifty year chapter. By God’s Grace, it is the beginning of a new year of Salvation.
